Individual Counseling
This type of Counseling is a one-to-one relationship based method of ministry., Some of' the common areas of individual counseling needs are for people experiencing depression, eating disorders, anger, anxiety and spiritual and emotional disorders relating to past traumatic experiences.
Marriage and Family Counseling
The goal of Marriage and Family counseling is to restore or establish equilibrium within the relationship and home. Generally, this type of' counseling can include individual sessions, husband and wife sessions, and even family sessions as relationships are reconciled, one to another. An insight and understanding are developed through newly learned communication life-changing skills; the counselees are equipped to achieve their desired results and learn positive Biblical methods of resolving conflict.
Children and Youth Counseling
Many of the issues facing the children of our day are beyond their normal coping abilities. Death, divorce, school violence, rape, incest, premarital sex, and sexual or physical abuse are unfortunately all too common for our children and youth. Biblical Counseling offers unique insight into helping our children and youth deal with these heartbreaking issues of life.
Substance Abuse
This type of counseling ministry may include individual, family, or group counseling methods to effectively deal with the addictive behavior.
Premarital Counseling
Premarital counseling is designed to assist couples in making a successful transition into marriage. The ministry teaches these individuals to relate to one another according to the Biblical principles of marriage. Personality assessments and marital inventories are combined with teaching the practical coping skills necessary in healthy Christian marriages.
Seminar and Workshops for Men
Weekend and weeknight courses of study are offered in both workshop and seminar settings in areas such as; Biblical counseling and training, marriage and family issues, addictive behaviors, youth and children's issues, Biblical principles of finance, and Bible studies.
Mediation Services
The ministry offers objective, third party mediation services for conflict resolution within local churches and businesses„ Church Pastors and Elders and Deacons benefit from the resolution of the conflict, without the damaging perception of "partiality or personal vendetta." Church members benefit from eased relationships and regained equilibrium within church activities. Costs involving mediation services are minimal when compared to secular court costs involving tort lawsuits and the potentially devastating cost of divided congregations or litigation expenses.
What to expect in a Biblical Counseling Session?
You can expect confidential, relationship based, Christ centered services to be provided by our professional staff and lay leaders. The counselor will help you establish clear goals and objectives designed to immediately begin a restoration process for your life's problems. All scheduled counseling sessions will be held at the Bill Franklin Ministries offices at pre-appointed times.
These sessions are within an informal setting and usually conducted by the same counselor throughout the counseling process. The counselor will also suggest "homework" assignments for you to prayerfully consider and complete between counseling sessions.
This is an important step in your overall spiritual development and the counselors consider this essential to the counseling process. Many times this assignment will need to be completed prior to scheduling the next counseling session.
